THAT IS A QUESTION THAT I HAVE BEEN ASKED A LOT AS WELL AS WHY ARE YOUR BABIES WORTH WHAT YOU ARE ASKING?
Well my answer is very easy; not only did I have to raise and nurture both mom and dad to breeding adulthood at a cost of approximately $800.00 each, not including cost of purchase; the hours of care, feeding, worrying, missed holidays, missed birthdays, going out when you don't feel good, repairing fence or birthing or caring for when you are supposed to be somewhere else, like my 8 to 5 job are just a few of the reasons.
6 or 7 years ago I was asked by the State of Idaho to figure out the cost of raising a dairy breed from birth to kidding; below is what I came up with, it is very conservative in costs. Notice that I have very few hours on this analysis and the milk price is very low.
